This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP),

a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.

Duties The duties of the dermatologist will be tailored to the needs of the Section as well as the experience and skills of the provider, but expectations would be for the individual to provide high quality general medical and surgical dermatologic care for both inpatients and outpatients at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. Typical procedures would include biopsy, cryosurgery, electrosurgery, and excisions, and possibly Mohs surgery, laser surgery, Botox injections, and subcutaneous fillers. In addition, teledermatology and compensation and pension exams may be required. The physician will work independently, as well as supervise and provide education to medical students, residents, and mid-level providers. Adherence to hospital by‑laws and professionalism are of course expected. Participation in hospital committees, research, and quality improvement projects would be tailored to the needs of the Section/Hospital and the expertise of the physician.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

50‑55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays per year and possible 5‑day paid absence for CME).

Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401(k) with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long‑term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).

1 full and unrestricted license from any US state or territory.

Possible $1,000 per year CME reimbursement (must be full‑time with board certification).

Free liability protection with tail coverage provided.

No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Recruitment Incentive (Sign‑on Bonus): Not authorized.

Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).

Must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of your start date.

Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply for the program.
