Opportunity Details

Provides high-quality, patient-centered rheumatologic care to an underserved, inner-city population in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

Performs inpatient rheumatology consultations, co-manages complex multisystem disease with primary and specialty teams, and ensures safe care transitions at admission, transfer, and discharge.

Delivers longitudinal outpatient care in general and subspecialty rheumatology clinics and participates in joint and multidisciplinary clinics as assigned.

Teaches and supervises fellows, residents, and medical students using bedside, case-based, and didactic instruction, fostering a culture of active, evidence-based learning with timely feedback.

Collaborates closely with primary care and specialty services to coordinate diagnostic work-ups, treatment plans, and follow-up through clear and respectful communication.

Participates in divisional projects, quality improvement initiatives, clinical pathways, and scholarly activities to improve systems of care and advance rheumatology practice.

Participates in weekend and holiday inpatient coverage per the Division schedule.

Qualifications

Board Certified in Internal Medicine.

Board certification or eligibility in Rheumatology.

Current and unrestricted New York State medical license.

Wages and Benefits include Annual Base Salary: $259,220* based on 40-hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $340,662**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below.

Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $55,520.

401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):

Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.

Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) Reimbursement.

Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO): Vacation, Sick, Holiday, and CME days.

Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage: Top-tier plans with employee contributions significantly below market rates.

Loan Forgiveness: Position may be eligible for loan forgiveness through certain state or federal programs.

Medical Malpractice Coverage (equivalent to occurrence-based): Provided at no cost to the employee.
