About the Role A.M. Crawford, Inc. (AMC) is seeking a senior fundraising leader to serve as an
Associate Director of Fundraising Strategy & Client Services . This role is designed for an experienced fundraiser and people leader who has successfully secured
six- and seven-figure grants
and who brings a strategic, portfolio-level approach to nonprofit revenue growth.
Associate Directors at AMC lead consulting teams and oversee a portfolio of nonprofit clients, with a primary focus on
fundraising strategy, grant acquisition, and revenue diversification . This is a leadership position for someone who understands how fundraising strategy, financial modeling, organizational capacity, and execution work together to drive sustainable growth.
The Associate Director is accountable for
client outcomes, team performance, and portfolio profitability , and plays a key role in shaping AMC’s fundraising services and thought leadership.
Core Responsibilities
Serve as a senior fundraising strategist for AMC clients, designing and guiding
comprehensive fundraising strategies
that include institutional giving, major gifts, and public funding.
Lead and advise clients on the development of
high-value grant proposals , including six- and seven-figure foundation and government requests.
Act as lead consultant for select high-profile clients, overseeing fundraising strategy, work plans, deliverables, and outcomes.
Provide expert counsel on donor strategy, funder alignment, revenue projections, and long-term fundraising sustainability.
Ensure all fundraising and grant activities align with funder requirements, best practices, and ethical standards (AFP/GPA).
Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of consultants responsible for fundraising strategy, grant writing, and post-award management.
Translate high-level fundraising strategy into clear scopes of work, timelines, and execution plans for consulting teams.
Review and provide quality control on fundraising strategies, proposals, narratives, and budgets to ensure excellence and competitiveness.
Support team members in developing their fundraising expertise, strategic thinking, and client leadership skills.
Maintain accountability for the
profitability and ROI
of assigned client portfolios and team portfolios.
Use AMC’s KPIs, fundraising metrics, and financial data to evaluate performance and adjust strategy.
Support clients in developing realistic fundraising projections and multi-year revenue models.
Prepare reports and insights for AMC leadership related to fundraising outcomes and portfolio health.
Business Development & Service Growth
Identify opportunities to expand fundraising services with existing clients.
Participate in proposal development, client pitches, and business development conversations.
Collaborate with AMC leadership to refine and expand fundraising-focused service offerings.
Serve as a visible representative of AMC within the nonprofit and fundraising community.
What You Bring
5+ years of senior-level fundraising experience , with a demonstrated record of securing
six- and seven-figure grants and gifts .
Background aligned with
AFP, GPA, or comparable professional fundraising standards .
Experience leading or advising fundraising teams, departments, or consulting engagements.
Deep understanding of
institutional fundraising strategy , including foundations, government grants, and major donors.
Strong financial literacy, including budget development, revenue forecasting, and ROI analysis.
Ability to think strategically across organizations while managing execution details.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to guide clients and teams with confidence and clarity.
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment.
