Companies such as Airbnb, Carlyle Group, FedEx, Visa, and Dr. Martens use Watershed to manage climate and ESG data, generate audit‑ready metrics for both voluntary and regulatory reporting (including CSRD), and drive meaningful decarbonization. We’re looking for teammates who enjoy building products, want to work hard at a mission‑driven startup, and are excited to help shape the culture of a growing team.

We have offices in San Francisco, New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and Mexico City, as well as remote team members across the US and Europe.

Partner with Product, Design, and Customer teams to define a technical roadmap that balances speed to market with long‑term code‑base stewardship.

Be a strong customer of our platform teams, leveraging existing capabilities and sharing financial customer needs to help shape the platform roadmap.

Build high‑impact platform enhancements that deliver value to your customer.

Work with engineering leadership to make Watershed a productive, innovative, and impactful environment for engineers.

Qualifications

8+ years of engineering experience.

Experience building user‑facing applications with attention to usability, performance, and scale.

A systems mindset, with the ability to understand the big picture, identify critical challenges, and help teams focus on what matters most.

Experience leading high‑performing engineering teams.

Location & Work Arrangement This role will be based in our San Francisco office. Candidates must be willing to work from the office 4 days per week (except for remote roles). Watershed has hub offices in San Francisco, New York, London, and Mexico City, with satellite offices in Sydney, Paris, and Berlin. Where offices exist, employees are expected to be in‑office 4 days per week.

Interview Process The process begins with 1–2 introductory conversations to get to know Watershed, your background, and your interests. Next steps vary by role, but typically include a skills or experience interview (for example, a coding interview for engineers or a portfolio review for designers), followed by a virtual or in‑person interview panel. We prioritize transparency and minimizing surprises throughout the process.

Accommodations Watershed is committed to an inclusive hiring experience. We offer reasonable accommodations for candidates with disabilities, long‑term conditions, mental health needs, religious observances, neurodivergence, or pregnancy‑related requirements. If you need support during the interview process, please let your recruiter know.
