Job Overview As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building the core geospatial infrastructure for our FleetOps platform. Your work will power critical fleet management features by ingesting, processing, and analyzing real-time location data.
Responsibilities
Process high-volume GPS telemetry and ensure data integrity at scale.
Build advanced geospatial features, including complex geofencing and spatial indexing.
Implement efficient algorithms for intelligent routing and reverse geocoding.
Architect distributed systems that handle massive datasets with low latency and high availability.
Build and scale geospatial data models to handle massive volumes of incoming GPS telemetry.
Design scalable API interfaces that allow internal applications and external services to efficiently query location, routing, and geofencing data.
Integrate with mapping technologies, demonstrating the ability to quickly learn and utilize tools such as Google Maps, OpenStreetMap, or geospatial libraries (e.g., PostGIS).
Optimize for scale and cost, building software that processes high-throughput location streams efficiently, reducing infrastructure overhead while maintaining data freshness.
Ensure system health by building appropriate monitoring, logging, and debugging tools to track latency, accuracy, and reliability of location services.
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to translate complex geospatial challenges into deliverable features.
Actively work on our AWS cloud infrastructure to support distributed systems and real‑time data processing pipelines.
Mentor and learn from the developers within the engineering organization, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field.
4+ years of software development experience.
Experience building product infrastructure, distributed systems and data models.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, and Cassandra.
Experience building for Cloud Infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or private clouds.
Compensation Pay Transparency United States: $137,000 - $171,000 USD. Compensation may vary based on education, work experience, and certifications. For certain roles total compensation may include restricted stock units.
