$171,000 - $190,000 per year Role Overview Ashton Norths client is seeking a Director of Business Systems to lead transformational, manufacturing-focused systems initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling the technologies that enable end-to-end operational excellence - from customer configuration and order intake through manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution. This is a highly operational leadership role. The ideal candidate brings deep manufacturing experience, has led transformational technology initiatives, and has directly implemented advanced systems including ERP (beyond NetSuite), analytics, IoT, automation, AI, and machine learning in real-world manufacturing environments. The Director of Business Systems will act as a strategic and operational partner to executive leadership, manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and distribution teams. Key Responsibilities Transformational Enterprise Systems Leadership Lead transformational business systems initiatives that modernize and scale manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution operations. Own the strategy, selection, implementation, and optimization of enterprise ERP and operational systems beyond NetSuite, ensuring alignment with complex manufacturing workflows. Drive integration across ERP, MES, PLM, CRM, WMS, and other core platforms to enable seamless end-to-end operations. Translate business and operational needs into scalable, technology-enabled solutions. Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Distribution Enablement Partner directly with manufacturing leadership to support shop floor operations through intelligent systems design and automation. Implement and scale IoT-enabled manufacturing systems, including machine connectivity, sensor data capture, and real-time operational visibility. Lead automation initiatives that improve throughput, quality, traceability, and labor efficiency. Extend systems and data visibility across supply chain and distribution, enabling better planning, execution, and delivery performance. Support manufacturing environments involving aluminum or metal-based products (strongly preferred). Advanced Analytics, AI & Data-Driven Operations Lead hands-on implementation of advanced analytics, dashboards, and real-time operational reporting. Deploy predictive analytics, AI, and machine learning solutions to support demand forecasting, capacity planning, quality management, maintenance, and supply chain optimization. Establish data governance and architecture that ensures accuracy while enabling fast, actionable insights across the organization. Leadership, Change & Execution Serve as a business-first systems leader, not a back-office IT function. Lead and mentor internal teams while managing system integrators, technology partners, and vendors. Drive adoption, training, and change management for transformational initiatives. Balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-moving manufacturing environment. Required Experience & Background 10+ years of experience leading business systems and technology initiatives in manufacturing environments. Proven track record of transformational systems implementations across manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution. Direct, hands-on experience implementing ERP platforms beyond NetSuite (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Infor, Epicor, IFS, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Demonstrated work experience implementing IoT, manufacturing automation, advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning - not just exposure. Experience supporting highly configurable or customize-to-order products, from customer configuration through manufacturing execution. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations and shop floor realities. Experience working in small to mid-sized companies, including growth and scale environments. Manufacturing experience involving aluminum or metal products is a strong plus. Preferred Qualifications Experience integrating ERP with MES, PLM, WMS, and shop floor control systems. Background in configurable or engineer-to-order product environments. Experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives.
