Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endpoint Engineer for a critical role focused on modern device management and operational excellence based in Chicago, IL.

The Contract Endpoint Engineer will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of all endpoints, ensuring high operational readiness, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a technical leader who can execute complex deployments and upskill existing engineers through expert guidance and coaching, while also demonstrating strong communication skills in a customer-facing role.

Key Responsibilities Hands-on Endpoint Engineering & Lifecycle Management: Provide expert, hands-on engineering support for all endpoints (Windows, macOS, Mobile), managing device lifecycle, configuration, and operational readiness. Lead the initial setup and configuration (Standing up MDM) and execution of Mobile Device Management (MDM) deployment, particularly using Intune. Provide advanced, high-level troubleshooting for complex endpoint issues. MDM Implementation & Optimization: Collaborate closely with existing technical teams on the implementation and optimization of Intune/MDM solutions, working alongside legacy systems like SCCM where applicable. Manage and maintain Apple devices using JAMF Pro. Security & Vulnerability Management: Actively hunt vulnerabilities from an endpoint perspective and efficiently plan and execute remediation efforts. Utilize MS Defender and other security tools to maintain a strong security posture. Leadership, Coaching, & Communication: Lead and coach internal Endpoint Engineering team members, driving best practices and technical growth. Engage with end-users, team members, and executives (Customer-Facing) to discuss technical topics, translating complex IT concepts into Layman Terms, especially when chatting with Executives. Sustainability & Documentation: Help build internal capability for long-term sustainability through robust knowledge transfer, detailed documentation, and technical upskilling.
