Institutional Client Advisor Location:
New York City, New York Purpose:
Serve as the primary point of contact for institutional clients and limited partners, driving satisfaction, retention, and growth. Scope:
Lead client communications, provide consultative support, and coordinate internally to deliver relationship alpha, investment alpha, and operating alpha.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a steward of enterprise relationships with assigned institutional clients. Develop deep understanding of client investment pools, objectives, and organizational priorities. Serve as a single point of contact for inquiries, ensuring proactive and responsive service. Prepare and lead quarterly and annual portfolio review meetings with clients. Maintain strategic account plans, monitor relationship health, and identify growth opportunities Communicate performance updates, market insights, and new investment opportunities. Partner with Institutional Sales to retain assets and win new mandates. Coordinate with Investments, Marketing, and Account Operations to deliver seamless client experience. Represent client perspectives internally to inform product and service evolution.
Requirements: 10+ years of experience in institutional client relations, marketing, or institutional sales within asset management. Bachelor's degree required; MBA or postgraduate degree preferred. CFA or CAIA strongly preferred. Deep knowledge of public and private capital markets and institutional investor pools. Exceptional communication and presentation skills; ability to interpret performance metrics. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; proven ability to influence across teams. Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in fast-paced environments. Willingness to travel (~10-20%).
