fundamental, research-driven hedge fund
that manages over $600M in assets and employs a
high-conviction, concentrated investment strategy . The firm focuses on
publicly traded technology and growth companies , typically holding 8-12 core positions with a long-biased approach. Their investment philosophy emphasizes deep fundamental analysis, competitive advantage assessment, and multi-year holding periods.
Role Summary The Primary Research Analyst will be responsible for generating proprietary insights through direct engagement with industry participants, expert networks, and field research. This role is critical to building differentiated perspectives that inform the fund's concentrated portfolio decisions.
Key Responsibilities Conduct
primary research
including management interviews, expert calls, and channel checks. Develop and maintain relationships with industry executives, suppliers, and customers to gather real-world intelligence. Organize and synthesize qualitative insights with quantitative data to support investment theses. Map competitive landscapes and identify catalysts, risks, and long-term trends. Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and analysts to refine ideas and build conviction. Present findings in clear, actionable formats for investment decision-making.
Ideal Candidate Profile Experience:
3-7 years in
management consulting
or a similar research-intensive role (strategy consulting, due diligence, or corporate strategy). Strong ability to
structure research projects , ask the right questions, and extract actionable insights. Exceptional communication skills for engaging with senior executives and industry experts. Intellectual curiosity and comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Familiarity with financial concepts and public markets is a plus (but not required).
