Investment Banking Analyst/Associate (Baltimore)

Chesapeake Search Partners has partnered with a Baltimore-based boutique investment bank to find an Analyst/Associate to join their team. The Analyst/Associate will support middle-market investment banking engagements through financial analysis, research, client management, and transaction support. The role reports to a Managing Director and works closely with an existing Associate.
Key Responsibilities: Develop pitch materials and preliminary business valuations, incorporating industry insights, competitive benchmarking, and transaction analyses. Conduct research to identify and compile lists of potential buyers and investors for client initiatives. Create client-facing marketing documents, including management presentations and information memorandums. Construct comprehensive three-statement financial projection models based on client financial data in various formats. Coordinate and oversee due diligence processes, responding to requests from prospective acquirers and service providers. Maintain ongoing engagement with acquirers throughout the transaction process, from initial outreach to deal closing. Collaborate directly with client executives and key stakeholders, demonstrating a professional and confident presence. Prepare concise and actionable summaries and analyses for senior leadership, and support ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications: 1-4 years in investment banking, finance, accounting, investing, or related financial services roles. Bachelors degree required with a preferred focus in accounting, finance, or economics. Strong proficiency in accounting and financial analysis, with the ability to interpret both internal and audited financial statements. Solid financial modeling skills with exceptional attention to detail. Strong business judgment and commercial acumen. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced capabilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with CRM systems, Capital IQ, or Pitchbook is advantageous. Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines across different teams and client engagements.
