Full-Time About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic
Director of FP&A
to lead financial planning, forecasting, and analytics across the organization. This leader will partner closely with senior executives, support regulatory and capital planning initiatives, and drive key insights that shape long-term business strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, deep FP&A expertise, and experience within regulated industries. Key Responsibilities: Business Partnership & Strategic Support Build strong partnerships with senior business leaders and provide actionable financial insights.
Support regulatory affairs with rate case planning and scenario modeling.
Develop dashboards and corporate metrics to optimize operations.
Evaluate investment strategies for high-growth business units.
Financial Planning & Forecasting Lead annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning across income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet.
Perform operational analysis to identify opportunities and performance gaps.
Model the financial impact of regulatory changes and capital investments.
Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and financial systems.
Financial Analysis & Reporting Deliver timely, accurate financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership and the Board.
Conduct variance analysis and provide strategic recommendations.
Support investor relations with earnings prep, SEC filings, and disclosures.
Partner with operational leaders to identify cost efficiencies and performance drivers.
Capital Planning & Investment Analysis Build financial models to support regulatory filings, rate cases, and capital projects.
Collaborate with Treasury and Regulatory Affairs to align financial strategy with compliance and funding needs.
Leadership & Collaboration Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing FP&A team.
Serve as a cross-functional partner to Finance, Operations, Regulatory, and Investor Relations.
Drive adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and system enhancements.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA or CPA preferred.
10+ years of finance experience, including 5+ years in FP&A (energy/utility or regulated industry experience preferred).
Advanced financial modeling skills, including 3-statement modeling.
Strong understanding of GAAP, FERC accounting, regulated utility economics, and capital planning.
Exceptional communication, executive presence, and ability to influence at all levels.
Proven leadership and project management capabilities in fast-paced environments.
