Vice President

Risk Reporting

will be part of the Risk Department (RMDAD), reporting to the Director of Risk Reporting. This role leads the production, governance, and continuous enhancement of enterprise risk reporting, ensuring reporting accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities: Lead the timely, accurate, and complete production of key regulatory and management risk reports covering credit, market, liquidity, and operational risk. Oversee end-to-end reporting processes to ensure data integrity, clear interpretation, and consistency across the institution. Ensure all reporting meets internal policy expectations as well as regulatory standards, including BCBS 239 principles for risk data aggregation and reporting. Define and maintain inventories of key data elements (KDEs) driving risk reports. Document data lineage, validate transformations, and ensure robust data quality controls. Develop and publish data quality scorecards and reporting KPIs. Partner with technology teams to advance SMBCs risk reporting platforms, including integration with enterprise data governance tools such as Collibra and bank-wide master data management solutions. Drive enhancements for reporting automation, controls, and transparency, reducing manual processes and operational risk.

Requirements: 8+ years of relevant industry experience is required 34 years specialized experience in risk reporting or risk data management preferably in a large banking environment. Hands-on credit risk and/or market risk reporting production experience, including data validation and remediation, required. SQL required; Python preferred. Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra) and data lineage frameworks. BS/BA required; preferred majors include computer science, information/data systems, or a related field; MBA or MS/PhD in information science preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex risk concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to influence stakeholders across departments and lines of defense. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
