We are seeking a Financial Analyst
to join our leadership team and support our CFO in managing the financial operations and strategic planning of the organization. This is a high-impact position that will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, capital management, and operational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and statutory accounting principles (SAP) Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and risk mitigation related to investment accounting Support the CFO in managing statutory investment reporting, cash flow forecasting, and capital allocation strategies Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings, including annual and quarterly NAIC statements and related exhibits Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support executive decision-making Assist in the evaluation of reinsurance economics, investment accounting, and enterprise risk management strategies Assist and mentor accounting staff and collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, operations, and compliance teams
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role Prior experience in the insurance, reinsurance, or financial services industry required (life insurance or annuity experience highly preferred) Deep knowledge of GAAP and SAP accounting principles Strong understanding of statutory reporting, risk-based capital (RBC), and insurance regulatory frameworks Proficiency with general ledger systems and financial reporting software (e.g., Oracle, Sage Intacct, or similar) Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Why Join Upstream Life?
