Job description:
The Post Closing Specialist supports staff members within the closing department. They will assure the Commercial Real Estate, Commercial & Industrial, and Consumer executed loan documents are reviewed for accuracy, completeness and compliance. They will also assist Loan Operations Processors in daily processing when needed.
This Post Closing Specialist will work with various departments inside and outside the bank, including Title Company and Legal Counsel.
Working knowledge of Laser Pro prepared documents and legal loan documents is required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Performs intermediate duties related to any of the following operational background functions serviced by the department:
Demonstrates highest standards of personal and professional integrity, adheres to companys policies and procedures, and complies with applicable laws, government rules and regulations. Assist with the review of Loan Documentation prior to release of documents. Review loan packages for accuracy, completeness and system codes prior to sending in for booking. Assist Loan Operations Supervisor with writing procedures for all functions. Assist with escrow analysis Oversee the release of all paid loans and record retention. Support the Loan Closer in perfecting all new collateral (e.g. File UCC for business assets, specific equipment and fixture filing with CT Lien Solutions when applicable, upload for recording mortgage, modifications at the proper counties etc. when applicable using the bank software, E-Recording software. Prepare loan closing packages for scanning and later the set-up of the collateral file. Load relevant open loan exceptions for all commercial, consumer loans (e.g. tracking of documents sent for recording, tracking for the issuance of title policies, tracking missing documents, tracking temporary waivers etc.) into Loan Vantage. Continually work to update loan exceptions and complete loan officer exceptions as needed Will assist in the creation, monitoring and distribution of the loan exception reports to the loan closing department staff and upper management Will assist in the review of perfected collateral and review final title policy for all requirements based on the loan and collateral type Construction Draw Administration Track and maintain all insurance including Flood insurance. When needed assist in the booking of new loans, renewal, extensions, and modifications. When needed prepare payoff letters and department invoices. When needed prepare outgoing wires and cashiers checks. When needed, process payment corrections and revise billing statements. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS 3 years experience of commercial real estate, commercial and / or industrial loan closing, preferred Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Working Knowledge of Laser Pro and Jack Henry Silverlake preferred.
Keyboard skills are required for this position. (At Least 40 wpm).
Math skills; calculate interest and balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; count currency, coin, and negotiable instruments in a timely manner.
Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to conduct instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, draft reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Effective organizational and time management skills
Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.
