Were a growing logistics brokerage looking for a
hands-on Controller
who can own the accounting function, bring structure to a fast-moving environment, and scale with us.
Onsite role
Tampa, FL (local candidates only or interested in working in Tampa)
The Role The Controller will lead all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant financials while building strong processes and controls. This role partners closely with executive leadership and plays a critical role in supporting growth and operational decision-making.
What Youll Do Own day-to-day accounting: GL, AP, AR, billing, broker commissions, payroll, and reconciliations Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and management reporting Oversee revenue recognition for freight brokerage operations Design and maintain internal controls and accounting policies Manage audits, tax compliance, and external advisors Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Own accounting systems and ensure TMS/ERP alignment Lead and develop the accounting team
What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance CPA strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Prior Controller or Accounting Manager experience preferred Strong GAAP, close, and audit experience Logistics or brokerage experience a plus ERP (QuickBooks) and TMS (Turvo) experience preferred
