- Complies with all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Collects, labels, and processes specimens accurately and on time, following patient ID policies.
- Communicates professionally with patients, clients, and coworkers; escalates unresolved issues to supervisors.
- Confirms orders and gathers accurate billing, diagnostic, and insurance information when needed.
- Delegates tasks and priorities to staff as appropriate, ensuring workflow efficiency.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including supplies and waste management.
- Performs clerical duties such as filing, data entry, faxing, and preparing mail.
- Trains, mentors, and orients new employees to departmental standards and procedures.
- Documents all activities, logs, and incidents accurately and promptly.
- Participates in teams, special projects, and ensures compliance with dress codes, safety regulations, and other policies.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years' experience.
- Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience is preferred.
- Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously.
