About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced

Manager of Cost Control & Procurement

to lead all procurement, contracting, and cost governance activities across a major industrial project and its transition into full operations. This role is essential for ensuring

strategic sourcing ,

cost efficiency ,

vendor performance , and

supply chain reliability

throughout the project lifecycle. This position is ideal for a procurement leader with a strong background in

mining, metals, steel, industrial manufacturing, or large-scale construction projects .

Key Responsibilities Pre-Commissioning / Construction Phase Build and implement

procurement systems , purchasing processes, and cost-control tools to support construction and commissioning. Lead end-to-end

purchasing, contracting, and strategic sourcing

for materials, equipment, and technical services. Partner with engineering, construction, and project management teams to maintain alignment with

project schedules, budgets, and cost-control targets . Develop strong relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and service providers across the heavy industrial supply chain. Manage

contract negotiation, bid evaluation, contract execution , and vendor performance. Provide detailed procurement reporting,

forecasting , and cost-tracking to project leadership. Post-Commissioning / Operational Phase Transition procurement processes from project-based workflows to a stable, optimized

operational procurement and supply chain management system . Lead continuous purchasing activities, inventory management, and supplier performance monitoring to support plant uptime and reliability. Collaborate with the CFO and operations leadership to ensure

financial oversight, cost optimization , and long-term sourcing strategies. Drive

continuous improvement

initiatives focused on cost reduction, supplier quality, and sourcing efficiency. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing

procurement and cost control team .

Required Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of increasing responsibility in

procurement, supply chain management, cost control, or project management

within mining, metals, steel, heavy industrial manufacturing, or major infrastructure projects. Demonstrated expertise in

strategic sourcing , contract negotiation, vendor management, and cost governance. Proven ability to build procurement systems for both project and operational environments. Strong cross-functional leadership experience working with engineering, construction, finance, and operations teams. Excellent communication and supplier relationship management skills.
