We are partnering with a leading wealth management firm to identify a Senior in the Alternative Investments Operational Due Diligence. This position is Hybrid based in St Petersburg, FL but
Relocation will be offered.
This is a high-impact, senior role responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing an ODD program that supports the firms growing platform of alternative investment solutions. The position covers a broad spectrum of hedge funds, private equity, real estate, managed futures, and non-traditional investment strategies, and requires deep experience evaluating operational infrastructures, controls, compliance, and risk frameworks.
You will lead onsite diligence visits, meet regularly with C-suite executives at external fund managers, evaluate operational processes and internal controls, review financial statements, and deliver detailed written recommendations. This individual will also contribute to platform competitiveness, advisor education, regulatory oversight, and team mentorship. The role requires significant autonomy, mature decision-making, and the ability to communicate complex information with clarity.
Responsibilities Leading and refining the firms ODD program Conducting comprehensive operational risk reviews and writing corresponding reports Leading onsite diligence with asset managers and service providers Evaluating accounting, valuation, cash management, NAV oversight, and financial reporting practices Assessing compliance programs and regulatory adherence Creating and executing an annual due diligence review plan Providing mentorship to team members Supporting advisor questions regarding fund operations Developing educational materials on operational and regulatory topics
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field 57 years of experience within a broker/dealer, hedge fund, private equity firm, or similar environment Strong knowledge of fund accounting, audit processes, operational controls, and alternative investment structures Exceptional written and verbal communication skills High proficiency in Excel; ability to analyze financial statements and complex data Preferred credentials include CAIA, CFA, or CPA Ability to work independently, lead meetings, manage multiple priorities, and meet recurring deadlines
