Position Description:
As an IT Manager, you will lead and safeguard Global Laser Enrichments information technology and communications infrastructure in a highly regulated and secure environment. You will oversee IT operations, cybersecurity compliance, asset lifecycle management, and system performance associated with classified networks. This role requires deep familiarity with NIST-based controls, configuration management, system hardening, and regulatory documentation supporting DOE, NRC, and/or DoD oversight. You will collaborate with technical, operational, regulatory, and security leaders to ensure resilient system availability and strict compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements affecting critical mission systems.
Responsibilities: Lead day-to-day IT operations for networks, servers, endpoints, and communications systems Maintain secure configurations, patching schedules, and system performance visibility Oversee IT asset lifecycle management and software licensing/compliance Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls aligned to NIST 800-series and CNSSI 1253 Develop and maintain regulatory documentation including SSPs, POA&Ms, and risk registers Support DOE/NRC/DoD audits, inspections, and compliance activities Document cybersecurity incidents, root cause assessments, and corrective actions Improve IT governance processes, procurement workflows, and configuration management systems Monitor system health, risk posture, and compliance status; escalate as needed Serve as primary point of contact for IT systems across internal and external stakeholders Coordinate IT/security policy changes with Information Security Programs Manager (ISPM) Maintain effective communication with regulatory agencies and leadership teams
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education: U.S. Citizenship (required) Active DOE/NRC Q-Clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance (required) Bachelors degree in IT, Engineering, Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) 8+ years installing and troubleshooting physical/virtual servers, SANs, and workstation environments 5+ years administering IT programs supporting regulatory inspections and compliance requirements Strong working knowledge of NIST SP 800-53, 800-82, 800-171 and CNSSI 1253 cybersecurity controls Experience developing/maintaining IT policies, procedures, and regulatory documentation Information security certification (Security+ or equivalent) Strong analytical, organizational, and technical documentation skills Excellent verbal/written communication abilities
Nice-to-Have Skills: Advanced technical degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or related field Advanced cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CCSP, CEH, etc.) Experience under 10 CFR 95 or NRC classified matter protection programs Experience supporting DOE, DOD, or NRC-classified operational environments
