Company Profile Boone Capital Management is an Atlanta-based investment manager focused on the healthcare sector. Our approach emphasizes the use of fundamental research and valuation discipline to invest in a concentrated portfolio of global long and short public equities across all healthcare subsectors, market caps and geographies. We seek asymmetric returns over a multi-year horizon.

We were founded in 2021 by Chief Investment Officer Watt Boone, who has 25 years of healthcare equity investment experience, including 14 years in senior leadership roles at GMT Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund. While at GMT, he grew the firms portfolio of healthcare investments from approximately $100M to $1B in gross exposure over a ten-year period.

We launched our flagship fund on September 1, 2021, and currently have approximately $600M in AUM from a growing base of limited partners. Long and short investments are made opportunistically across all subsectors of healthcare (biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, life science tools, healthcare services & facilities) and healthcare-adjacent industries, such as consumer health & wellness.

Position Description We are seeking an experienced research analyst for a full-time position based in our Atlanta office to work alongside a research team of three. The role will be to assist the analyst team and CIO in all aspects of the investment selection and research process. Day-to-day responsibilities include company and industry analysis, financial modeling and valuation, interviews with management, analysts, and experts, portfolio monitoring, and novel investment idea generation, memo writing, & presentations. Occasional domestic and international travel to conferences, tradeshows, and company headquarters will be necessary.

Candidate Requirements 3+ years of public equities investment experience at a buy-side investment firm (long/short equity or long-only) Domain expertise in at least one healthcare sub-sector (pre-commercial biotech, commercial biopharma, medical devices, life science tools, or healthcare services). Generalists or consumer/industrial sector analysts are welcome to apply if able to translate adjacent experience into the healthcare sector. A history of generating successful long and short investment ideas for fund and personal account. Ability to identify, analyze, model, and monitor the key drivers of a business via a logical and efficient fundamental research process. Capacity to discern and communicate investment theses by weighing risk and value. Intellectual curiosity, a passion for investing, and drive to improve as an investor A strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively with a small team. Track record of academic success in undergraduate and graduate programs. Adoption of firm values: integrity, alignment, service, value, and humility. Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Compensation & Benefits Attractive base salary, commensurate with experience and tenure with the firm. Annual bonus compensation is based on a combination of individual merit and fund performance. Benefits include 401k, medical, paid vacation and leave.
