Job Title: Phlebotomist
The primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various duties, troubleshooting issues, providing training, and making workflow recommendations.
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate equipment.
Update patient information and ensure accurate collection and storage of specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collections, such as urine or fecal, in a clear and courteous manner.
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
~ Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
~ High School Diploma or GED.
~Experience in medical, pediatric, and geriatric patient care.
Expertise in healthcare, drawing blood, and handling patient information.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Asheville, NC.
