Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating various types of heavy machinery on construction sites, ensuring safety, efficiency, and precision in all operations. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes and mechanical systems, with the ability to operate equipment such as excavators, loaders, and backhoes. Candidates with a background in construction site work and mechanical knowledge are highly preferred. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to projects while developing your skills in heavy equipment operation.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy machinery including loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to complete construction tasks efficiently and safely
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, material handling, and other construction activities
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as loaders, backhoes, excavators, and related machinery
  • Construction site experience is highly desirable
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance
  • Strong understanding of safety standards in construction environments
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy loads as needed
  • Relevant certifications or training in heavy equipment operation is a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid drivers license
  • Experience in dry utilities
  • Assist helper in hand digging/potholing utilities when required
  • Understand and interpret bluestake
  • Read and interpret SRP, APS, SW Gas and communications plans. 

Pay starts at $20/hour and can increase based on prior experience. All equipment and materials supplied at yard, work is at various jobsites around the valley.
