CNC Programmer - Engineering Support - 2nd Shift
to join our team! We are seeking candidates at the Indianapolis site. The individual will provide various types of engineering support in a machine shop environment. Essential Tasks: Creating and modifying CNC programming for various pieces of production equipment. Performing set-ups and proving out programs on CNC Mills, Wire EDM Machines, and lathes. Reading, interpreting GD&T, and analyzing engineering drawings, CAD files, production planning documents, and technical manuals. Creating or reviewing machining process plans and making controlled changes to work plans, assignments, or methods. Reviewing documents, drawings, layouts, sketches, and notes to determine fabrication processes. Supporting manufacturing floor to resolve technical issues timely. Reviewing and developing machining and sheet metal fabrication labor estimates. Maintaining/modifying existing and implementing new statistical process controls. Providing manufacturing capability reviews and labor estimates. Training Machine Shop personnel in set-ups and operation of multi-axis CNC equipment. Performing related work as required.
Minimum Educational / Work Experience Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in STEM preferred but not mandatory. At least 6 years of experience or equivalent training in CNC programming, setup, operation, and troubleshooting. Experience with MasterCam, Pro-E (Creo), or similar CAD/CAM software. 2 years of experience with quality systems and processes. Knowledge of machining ferrous, non-ferrous, plastics, fiber, and rubber materials. Strong understanding of cutting tools, speeds, and feed rates.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP software. Experience with data repositories.
Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to discuss technical concerns effectively with various stakeholders. Strong interpersonal skills for handling difficult discussions.
Security and Physical Requirements:
Must meet requirements for U.S. Government Security Clearance. Physical activity includes standing, walking, sitting, climbing stairs, carrying, bending, reaching, and handling.
