Mainframe Developer Location: Salem, Oregon, 97302 (REMOTE) Type: Part-time for 1 year (Schedule to be determined upon selection) The agency requires a mainframe developer with at least three (3) years of experience in the operations and maintenance of financial systems. Description:

Computer systems specialists provide technical guidance for the development and troubleshooting of computer systems. They identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs. They also develop guidelines for implementing secure systems for customers or installation teams. A bachelor's degree in a related area with at least 6 years of experience or equivalent in the field or a related area is typically required. Responsibilities: Contractor's Key Person shall: Review existing data systems-models, queries, quality, security, and provide recommendations and a suggested roadmap for migration. Perform software system development related to enhancements, maintenance, and upgrades. Provide software and system support for break/fix and bug repair. Develop maintenance documentation for coding and break/fix resolution. Provide quality assurance and testing of code. Provide knowledge transfer to appropriate personnel related to system functions and changes implemented. Demonstrate strong analysis, as well as oral and written communication skills. Must have experience with CA Scheduler. Proficient in maintenance and manipulation of VSAM data. Knowledge of DB2 for z/OS and ability to contribute to project work involving DB2 z/OS databases. Experience as a programmer in COBOL, including upgrading COBOL versions and accounting for compiler changes. Familiarity with programming in JAVA on the mainframe. Experience with CICS for maintenance and updates within existing environments. Experience with Easytrieve reporting software and data manipulation connecting to DB2 and PSDs. Comfortable working with version control in PanValet. Familiar with REXX development on the mainframe.
