Job Description
Our Forensic Architect team provides expert consulting on claims involving building envelope investigations, standard of care analysis, premises liability, building code analysis, infrared thermography surveys, and fire-resistant construction analysis. These activities are primarily for insurance property claims, construction defect litigation, and property condition assessments. Forensic Architects work alongside structural engineers, enjoying a mix of field and office work, with pride in resolving client issues.
What you will be doing :
Conduct forensic inspections to determine the cause and origin of incidents related to property damage and construction or design defects
Research building code compliance and review construction and project plans
Develop investigative reports with findings and remediation plans for management and clients
Create detailed plans and estimates for loss remediation, including scope, schedule, and budget
Participate in business development and client engagement activities
Support other departments as needed
Qualifications
BS degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Building Services
Registered Architect (RA) in California
7+ years of professional experience in design, inspection, and construction of residential and commercial structures; forensic experience preferred
Strong knowledge of IRC, IBC, and IEBC codes
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Experience with property damage investigations and litigation support is a plus
Strong customer service skills
Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to operate a 24-foot extension ladder, work on elevated or sloped surfaces, and in confined spaces
Travel to client sites required; active driver’s license needed
Additional Information
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $180,000 annually.
