Pharmacy Director

This Director role is responsible for directing the pharmacy programs at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, New Albany, and Dublin hospitals. This Pharmacy Director will also have shared accountability for driving resource and practice model evolution in our inpatient settings in collaboration with the Director of Mount Carmel East and Grove City hospitals, as well as clinical service business development in collaboration with our Pharmacy Business Director and Regional Clinical Manager. This Director is responsible for managing performance, planning, financial performance, developing leaders and team, quality and safety in their respective sites. The position reports to the Regional Chief Pharmacy Officer. Bachelor or Doctor of Pharmacy required. Master of Science degree in Hospital Pharmacy or other advanced professional or management degree is required, or 10 years progressive experience in pharmacy leadership. Position Purpose

Director of Pharmacy, will work collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team to provide administrative support and direction while implementing and overseeing the delivery of pharmaceutical care. Responsible for managing performance, planning, financial performance, quality and safety. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of the organization and according to federal and state regulations. What You Will Do

Managing performance: Provides coaching, support, guidance and developmental opportunities for managers, pharmacists, technical and support staff in designated areas; evaluates performance in terms of skills, knowledge, ability and productivity. Develops managers, effectively recruits, develops, counsels, manages and retains pharmacy staff. Supports fair and consistent Human Resource policy execution. Planning: Collaborates with pharmacy staff, all disciplines on the healthcare team and within the Organization to develop goals and objectives, performance targets, strategic and business plans, as appropriate, for areas of responsibility. Develops and/or implements new programs and services in response to identified community, organizational and/or customer needs to improve treatment outcomes and reduce risk of readmission. Clinical Excellence: Develops and/or implements clinical strategies to ensure appropriate and responsible use of pharmaceutical agents and related products to achieve optimal patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. Financial Performance: Ensures financial performance, for site/program and Mount Carmel region, through the development and monitoring of the operating and capital budgets for areas of responsibility. Demonstrates site/program leadership for regional and system drug spend savings initiatives. Culture of Medication Safety: Responsible for overseeing optimal medication management practices that align with a culture of safety within the site/program and region, including controlled and non-controlled substances Minimum Qualifications

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy required. Master of Science degree in Hospital Pharmacy or other advanced professional or management degree is required or 10 years progressively challenging experience in lieu of Master's degree. Licensure / Certification: Current license to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Ohio Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in supervisory or department manager positions in a Pharmacy Services Department of comparable size and scope preferred Position Highlights and Benefits
