The Electrical Engineer is responsible for conceiving, directing, and implementing commercial and utility-scale solar power projects. They evaluate the efficiency and safety of existing systems and apply research methodologies to electrical engineering projects. Responsibilities
PE license in California required. Designs solar PV systems, battery storage, off-grid microgrids, and EV charging systems. Gains deep knowledge of PV system components, ESS, Gensets, and EVCS. Develops construction drawings and engineering specifications. Creates single-line and three-line diagrams complying with NEC, IEEE, and utility standards. Reviews and ensures compliance with interconnection standards. Prepares interconnection applications and sets up load flow and dynamic models. Develops equipment specifications and bills of materials. Designs collection systems, including cable routing and sizing. Performs system studies for protection, short circuit, arc flash, load flows, and power quality. Visits project sites to assess site dimensions and electrical systems. Responds to questions, reviews change requests, and revises designs as needed. Ensures safety standards and codes compliance. Reviews contractor submittals and RFI requests. Prepares persuasive reports on facility improvements. Maintains vendor relationships for DER solutions and integrates components into systems. Performs other duties as required. Qualifications
5+ years of experience in distribution, utility, and DER interconnection. Experience with SKM or ETAP is a plus. Additional Details
