BSA Hospital
BSA Health System, located in Amarillo, Texas, is an extensive health system providing clinical excellence to the Texas Panhandle and the Tri-State area. Acclaimed for its superior quality and customer service, BSA Health System is comprised of BSA Hospital, BSA Harrington Cancer Center, BSA Physicians Group and numerous specialty clinics.
BSA Health System is the fourth largest employer in Amarillo, with a medical staff of more than 400 physicians and 3,000 employees. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) .
The
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
for BSA is responsible for the overall financial administration for the facility. Additional areas of responsibility may include: general accounting, data processing, materials management, information systems, and financial reporting. This position ensures that the internal controls are adequate to safeguard the assets of each entity and that the accounting systems are sufficient to generate accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Help create and implement initiatives to build and grow the facility. Analyze and develop ideas from a financial perspective to ensure the success of future endeavors. Consult with the Division CFO and Corporate office personnel regarding the facility's financial affairs, goals, and objectives. Develop operating policies and procedures. Review product line analysis and consult with the facility CEO and Division CFO. Prepare financial and management reports and oversee the facility's annual operation and capital budget. Collaborate with the facility CEO and executive team on the annual business plan. Coordinate functions and activities of assigned departments, including evaluating performance and personnel decisions. Monitor expenses for opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Participate in Board meetings, Medical Staff, and community engagements. Prepare projections to inform leadership of future performance. Maintain a healthy revenue cycle to ensure consistent cash flow. Work with the Division and joint venture partners on managed care negotiations to maximize contracts.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in accounting/finance or related field required. Master's Degree in Hospital Administration or Business Administration from an accredited institution is preferred. Previous experience as a hospital CFO. Knowledge of The Joint Commission, OSHA, and federal and state regulatory standards. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with management, staff, and employees. Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, and recommend improvements. Ability to interpret and apply guidelines, policies, and procedures. Sound judgment in decision-making and ability to react calmly in emergencies. Knowledge of strategic planning and goal implementation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in an integrated health delivery system is highly preferred. CPA certification.
