Job Description
The primary responsibility is working with the extraction component of the ETL process, utilizing SAS to extract data. A strong understanding of clinical and healthcare data is essential to effectively extract and structure the data. Experience working in a mainframe/Cobol environment is preferred.
The candidate should be comfortable working independently and handling large datasets, such as 10-20 million rows of claims and billions of records from various sources.
Responsibilities include structuring the data post-extraction.
Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of experience as an analyst-programmer involved in system development lifecycle functions.
5+ years of SAS coding experience, particularly in data extraction from large databases and maintaining production reports.
Strong understanding of database structures, tables, and joins.
Experience in data warehousing environments, preferably on the front-end.
Knowledge of paid and denied claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, and data standards such as PHI, HIPAA, and related code sets.
Experience with Medicaid, SSA, or other welfare programs, including familiarity with federal and state policies.
Cloud computing experience.
Proficiency in SQL or PROC SQL.
