We are seeking a mid-level Electrical Engineer for our Boston office to support enterprise-wide functions.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer sizing.
Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm, and security systems.
Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
Determine schedules and details required for projects and review with the project engineer.
Attend job meetings as required.
Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies.
Support the development of electrical standards.
Prepare cost estimates and specifications.
Basic requirements:
5 to 8 years of experience in designing electrical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems (interior and exterior), and lighting controls.
Knowledge of short circuit, arc flash coordination, interior and exterior lighting design, and photometric calculations.
Background in commercial and healthcare facilities is strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Knowledge of applicable codes, including energy conservation standards.
EIT certification.
LEED accreditation.
Proficiency with Revit design software, with at least 1 year of formal design experience.
