The role youll contribute: The Safety / Emergency Management Manager provides organizational leadership through the management of the safety program at Advent Health Central Texas. This position has the responsibility and authority to develop, manage, and maintain all elements and areas of the Environment of Care (EOC), and the responsibility and authority to intervene in matters of safety and security on behalf of the hospital. Additionally, the Safety / Emergency Management Manager oversees and manages a program of systemic implementation of best practice designed to improve emergency response. Responsible for managing the design and implementation of the emergency management plans and programs including disaster drills, hazard vulnerability analysis, and 96-hour sustainability plans. Also, responsible for the Emergency Management committee that reports to the EOC committee. The value youll bring to the team: Safety Management Maintains a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Environment of Care, Joint Commission standards and ensures organizational compliance with the standards. Oversees and maintains changes to the EOC Management Plans and their supporting Policies & Procedures based on current regulatory agency standards or organizational changes. Manages documentation for Joint Commission and current Life Safety Code practices and coordinates with Facilities Management for resolution of deficiencies. Coordinates maintenance and construction activities with the hospital Infection Prevention team. Manages all documentation and analyses for the Annual Evaluation of the Environment of Care program and the EOC Periodic Performance Review for Joint Commission. Develops, coordinates and/or provides safety training for personnel related to the EOC including fire prevention, emergency planning, hazardous materials handling, utilities systems, etc. Documents, charts, graphs, analyzes and reports to the EOC Committee, the collected information for ICES (Information Collection and Evaluation System) relative to the EOC. Manages and conducts safety inspections and on-going hazard surveillance and ensures implementation of resolutions as required and identified in the assessments. Responsible for EOC summary reports and presentations for the Governing Board of Directors on an annual basis. Setting up and managing all phases of hazardous waste, from yearly reports, generator status, overseeing weekly inspections, storage, disposal, and proper manifesting of waste at all locations. Emergency Management Provides guidance for all departments within the organization for department specific training, emergency response and preparedness activities. Directs the development of and the on-going participation of personnel in a hospital response Decontamination Team. Coordinates the availability of equipment to conduct response. Manages the development and review of policies related to emergency management. Verifies accurate record of drills, critiques, community meetings, and real events. Manages and educates an effective plan for all facilities in the arena of disaster response and emergency management. Responsible for managing the design and implementation of the emergency management plans and programs including disaster drills, hazard vulnerability analysis, and 96 hour sustainability plans. The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed: Minimum qualifications: Bachelors Degree - Preference will be given to degrees related to occupational health and safety and health care 5 years experience in a health care setting providing services related to environment of care, occupational health and safety, or life safety Experience in conducting safety compliance surveys in a healthcare setting This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
