About The Role As a Transformer Sales Engineer, you serve as the transformer technical expert within the sales organization. You provide essential technical guidance to the sales team, helping validate complex requirements and ensure our solutions align with customer specifications. You review RFQs and POs for technical feasibility, engage in technical discussions with customers, and help maintain consistency across technical documentation. You also work closely with the Supply Chain team on existing orders to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
Role Responsibilities
RFQ Technical Review: Collaborate with sales to review technical specifications, determine manufacturing feasibility, and support accurate quote development.
Invoice Technical Review: Review quotes, customer specifications, and purchase orders to ensure alignment.
Drawing Technical Review: Review engineering drawings and nameplates to ensure they match quality standards and specifications.
External Sales Support: Join customer calls to provide technical expertise on transformer-related matters.
Internal Sales Support: Guide sales on technical specifications, capabilities, and requirements.
Supply Chain Collaboration: Work with the Supply Chain team to resolve technical issues and ensure manufacturing alignment.
Training Materials: Create educational materials about transformers for the team.
Quote Tool Development: Help develop tools for accurate configuration and pricing of transformers.
About You You have deep transformer expertise, practical engineering knowledge, and attention to detail. You can explain complex concepts clearly, manage multiple projects, and are driven by solving infrastructure challenges. You thrive in collaborative environments where knowledge sharing is valued.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or exceptional experience
2+ years in switchboard design, manufacturing, or application engineering
Knowledge of transformer specifications and standards (IEEE/ANSI/NEMA)
Experience reviewing technical specs and drawings
Strong technical writing skills
Customer-facing technical experience
Excellent project management skills
Pay Transparency Salary range: $60,000 - $160,000 USD, including base salary and bonuses. Benefits include 401(k), medical, dental, and vision insurance.
