The Opportunity

Ulteig is seeking a talented and motivated Principal Cybersecurity and NERC CIP Compliance Engineer to support, manage, and lead clients in developing NERC CIP programs and advising on OT Cybersecurity hardening of utility networks.

This role involves leading clients through the development and implementation of NERC CIP programs, supporting site registration of renewable energy sites, and building awareness and standards for CIP compliance and cybersecurity through training and business development. The engineer will oversee less experienced staff and report to a Technical Manager.

What You'll Do

Review designs and practices for OT Cybersecurity hardening.

Guide clients on industry best practices, compliance strategies, and NERC CIP standards.

Develop and advise on NERC CIP compliance programs and registration processes.

Create NERC CIP and OT Cybersecurity training programs.

Conduct mock audits, report findings, and recommend improvements.

Ensure internal design compliance with NERC CIP and educate staff on best practices.

Develop documentation and services for NERC CIP compliance support.

Create business plans for expanding NERC CIP and OT Cybersecurity services.

Collaborate with cybersecurity stakeholders to maintain security and compliance standards.

Approve design templates and review designs by others.

What We Expect from You

Bachelor's degree in IT, Security, Cybersecurity, or related; Master's preferred.

Cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, GICSP).

15+ years of experience managing NERC CIP programs, especially in utilities or related industries.

Participation in professional associations and industry presentations is a plus.

Experience interpreting and operationalizing security requirements and contractual commitments.

Proficiency with discipline-specific software and ability to teach others.

Deep understanding of NERC CIP standards and renewable energy designs.

Expertise in network security and device hardening.

Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Proven record in preparing organizations for NERC audits and compliance programs.

Experience with industrial networks, SCADA devices, and relays is preferred.

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

Commitment to ongoing learning and sharing knowledge.

Willingness to travel ( Legal authorization to work in the US.

Additional details:

Target salary range: $145,000 - $195,000

Factors influencing salary include skills, education, experience, location, and internal comparisons.

This position will be posted for at least 3 days and up to 60 days until filled or canceled.
