Our Opportunity
We seek a
Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Fire Protection Engineer
for our
Thermal Sciences
Practice in
Houston, TX . The role involves investigating failures related to structures, vehicle and wildland fires, explosions, industrial processes, combustion systems, consumer products, and automobiles.
You will be responsible for:
Performing engineering calculations and analysis
Evaluating mechanical and safety systems performance
Utilizing computational techniques such as CFD
Conducting field work and data collection
Laboratory testing and assessments
Planning and executing experimental test programs
Assessing material flammability in labs
Preparing proposals and technical reports
Presenting findings to clients
Traveling as required for project work
Qualifications include:
Ph.D. in Chemical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Fire Protection Engineering or related field
Strong background in thermodynamics, reaction kinetics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and combustion
Experience developing combustion and fire models
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Willingness to tackle diverse problems
Preferred:
Experience with experimental programs
Interest in solving a wide range of problems
