Description
Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to support our interdisciplinary team providing innovative, client-centered care for individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders. This role involves taking vitals, administering injections, performing phlebotomy, managing scheduling, and supporting Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and harm reduction care. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who embodies integrity, humility, and a deep commitment to underserved populations. You'll work alongside psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, nurses, therapists, and case managers in both in-person and telehealth settings to help clients on their recovery journey.

Schedule.
This position will work Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, and is eligible for a hybrid model that allows for a mix of remote and in-office work, with an expectation of being in the office two-three days per week and working from home the rest of the week. This schedule may be adjusted based on training, client, and community needs.
Salary for this role.
Starting wage is based on experience and company equity.Paid bi-weekly. $18.87- $27.32 per hour
Bilingual Language Differential Pay.
*Rate depends on language requirements for the position and the candidate's fluency. Employees will receive scheduled earnings on a bi-weekly basis, equivalent to 5% of their regular base rate (hourly or salaried), with a maximum amount of $3,000.00 per calendar year. The annual maximum amount will be prorated based on full-time equivalency (FTE).
Essential Functions: Support the clinical functions of the medical team (obtain vitals for prescribers). Coordinate scheduling and rescheduling of prescriber appointments. Make reminder calls for prescriber appointments. Maintain appropriate documentation in electronic health record (enter lab orders, etc.). Provide venipuncture services as needed (if qualified). Manage medication orders as directed by prescriber including Patient Assistance. Understand and comply with organizational goals around quality, compliance, standards, and policies. Provide information to credentialing, payroll, etc. in a timely manner. Act as a liaison between medical resources and the patient Monitor and coordinate care for assigned clients in partnership with the other members of the client'scare team.
Qualifications
Requirements: High School Diploma or GED Preferred: formal medical assistant training. Preferred: three yearsof relevant clinical work experience. Preferred: experience caring forclients with substance use disorders. Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification, within one year of hire. Preferred: MA certification. CPR/BLS/CPI certifications, within one year of hire.
Required Vaccination and TB Test.
