Collections Specialist
Location: Reston, VA (hybrid flexibility once trained) Assignment Type: Temporary Compensation: $25-27/ hour Work Schedule: M-F, 9-5 Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, and 401(k) Key Responsibilities: Contact customers regarding outstanding invoices and ensure timely collection of payments. Monitor AR aging reports and proactively follow up on past-due accounts. Work closely with project managers and billing teams to resolve disputes and billing discrepancies. Track and collect retention payments according to contract terms. Maintain detailed records of customer communications, payment commitments, and collection efforts. Prepare and send demand letters, lien notices, and other collection-related documents as needed. Assist in processing lien waivers and ensuring timely release based on payments received. Support monthly and quarterly AR reporting and cash flow forecasting. Qualifications: 24 years of collections or AR experience, preferably in the construction or related industry. Familiarity with construction billing terms, contracts, lien rights, and retainage. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, QuickBooks).
