The Educator is responsible for new staff onboarding, orientation development, implementation, and evaluation. The Educator participates in organizational teams and committees that plan, evaluate and implement educational offerings and programs that promote increased skill, knowledge, and professional development. The Educator provides expertise in the development of educational offerings and implementation of educational programs, and in interpretation and policy development of regulatory standards and standard work. Acts as liaison to local schools of SPD training and provides input for student clinical experiences. Participates in and uses evidence-based practice and research to promote professional development. The Educator adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. All duties are performed in accordance with established departmental and Hospital policies and procedures. This position actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, while implementing the principles of Advent Health. The value youll bring to the team: Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant areas of sterile processing. Assessment: Facilitates annual education needs assessment for department. Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of sterile processing. Analyzes the assessment data to determine the target audience and the learner needs. Professionalism: Attends continuing education programs as needed. Maintains own educational SPD knowledge in order to ensure education delivered is of the highest quality. Facilitates unit based or organizational competency validation, specific to cultural/spiritual needs, by developing skill content to be tested or acts as content expert and validates competency. Other duties: Assists in managing and teaching instrument tracking modules and other IT modules as applicable.
