Our client, a highly respected and mission-driven organization in the DMV area, is seeking a Senior Specialist, Tax & Regulatory Compliance to join their team. If you're experienced with corporate and nonprofit tax filings, including Forms 1120 and 990T, have a strong grasp of tax regulations and UBIT, and are a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
this could be your next big move. As a key member of the finance team, you'll be responsible for preparing and reviewing critical tax documentation and supporting materials. Your work will help ensure our company's tax compliance and planning strategies remain efficient, accurate, and aligned with regulatory standards. Experience Requirements: 5+ years in Finance/Accounting or business modeling roles. Experience preparing/supporting business tax filings (1120, 990T) Familiarity with for-profit and nonprofit tax compliance Experience using financial systems like NetSuite & Adaptive Planning Educational Requirements: Bachelors in Finance/Accounting or Business Administrative field Responsibilities: Prepare workpapers for federal and state business income tax filings, including apportionment and tax models. Maintain detailed documentation for IRS Form 990T, 1120 filings, and overhead allocation schedules. Collect and compile K-1 investment data and coordinate with external tax advisors. Generate financial reports and saved searches using NetSuite. Independently research complex tax positions and recommend best practices. Collaborate cross-functionally to gather internal data and improve tax processes. Forecast and manage estimated tax payments; administer online tax accounts. Prepare tax-related General Ledger journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations. Assist in deferred tax asset accounting and policy development.
