Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lab Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our R&D laboratory. This individual will play a critical role in supporting the scientific team by maintaining a safe, efficient, and well-organized lab environment.
Key Responsibilities Laboratory Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with safetyguidelines, protocols, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a well-organized and efficient laboratory environment, including equipment andsupply management, ordering and inventory control, and maintenance scheduling. Develop and implement laboratory policies and procedures to streamline workflows,enhance efficiency, and improve data integrity. Team Support and Coordination: Collaborate with scientists and researchers to understand their laboratory needs, andprovide guidance and support as necessary. Facilitate communication and coordination between different teams within the company, including research, development, and manufacturing. Assist in the training and onboarding of new laboratory personnel, ensuring adherenceto best practices, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures. Quality Control and Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility ofexperimental data. Establish and maintain documentation systems for experiments, protocols, and results,following best practices and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any quality-relatedissues, and implement corrective actions as needed. Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Coordinate routine maintenance, calibration, and repair of laboratory equipment toensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Liaise with equipment vendors and service providers to schedule maintenance visits andtroubleshoot any equipment-related issues. Keep abreast of new technologies and equipment advancements, making recommendations for procurement or upgrades when necessary. Health and Safety Compliance: Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulationsand protocols. Develop and enforce safety guidelines and protocols, conduct safety training, andprovide ongoing support to laboratory personnel in maintaining a safe workingenvironment. Stay updated on emerging health and safety regulations and implement necessarychanges to maintain compliance. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., Biology,Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field). A Ph.D. is a plus. Proven experience as a Lab Manager or similar role in a biotech, pharmaceutical, oracademic research laboratory. Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment, and techniques. Experience working with and managing Biosafety Level 2 practices, equipment, andfacility design. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality control practices in a laboratorysetting. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and meetdeadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaborativelyand build relationships with team members at all levels. Proficient in laboratory software and data management tools. Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to protocols and procedures. Experience in managing budgets and resources is desirable.
