Overview AmTrust Financial is seeking an Executive Underwriter for our Northeast Territory within the Middle Market division.

The Executive Underwriter manages the underwriting and servicing of new and renewal accounts for assigned middle market agents and producers, ensuring compliance with company underwriting, authority, and pricing standards.

Candidates residing within 50 miles of an AmTrust office are expected to follow a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

Write and retain a profitable book of business through risk analysis, pricing, marketing, and servicing.

Ensure compliance with state filings and adhere to corporate underwriting and pricing guidelines.

Operate within granted authority and refer cases to Middle Market and Home Office Underwriting as needed.

Collaborate with the Middle Market team on market, technical, and relationship trends.

Develop and implement marketing and pipelining strategies with distribution partners for key agents.

Coach agents on underwriting appetite and protocols following corporate training guidelines.

Participate in industry events such as agency or association conventions.

Provide professional communication and service to clients and internal staff to facilitate business retention and growth.

Assist support staff in processing coverage requests per service guidelines.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in commercial lines property and casualty insurance.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Strong negotiation and marketing skills.

Technical expertise in middle market organizations' liability, property, automobile, and umbrella exposures.

Ability to analyze information for risk assessment and pricing.

Respect for confidentiality.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Team-oriented attitude.

Willingness to travel within the territory and to the Home Office as needed.

CPCU or CIC designation preferred.
