Position Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of medical coders. Conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, updates, and any issues. Provide training and development opportunities to team members. Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing improvement plans as needed.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations Proven ability to manage multiple sites and Inpatient coding teams effectively. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Proficiency in using relevant software and tools (Microsoft Office, VA Coding Systems, SharePoint, etc)

Education And Experience

Must be credentialed with AAPC or AHIMA Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding, with at least 2 years as an Inpatient Coder/Auditor with the Department of Veterans Affairs. 2 years of experience with VIRR/WebVIRR The role requires adaptability to business demands, which may require working outside standard hours *

The pay range for the states of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Washington, and the District of Columbia is: $51,000 - $63,000 USD
