Broadcast Director - Job Description
WSOC TV Charlotte is seeking a Broadcast Director to oversee all technical aspects of live newscasts in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate must adapt quickly, communicate effectively with staff and news management, and direct live and taped segments using various production systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Direct live broadcasts with Grass Valley Ignite Automation System Manage all production aspects of broadcasts Direct taped segments efficiently Handle PA duties, including Vinten Robotic cameras and teleprompter Operate studio mics and lighting Edit non-linear content on Avid platform Troubleshoot technical issues Lead by example, communicate clearly, and collaborate effectively Minimum Qualifications
Experience in broadcast news, including audio mixing, camera operation, video editing, and studio lighting Ability to operate equipment and stay focused for extended periods Interest in broadcast news production Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of television news experience, with directing preferred Knowledge of Grass Valley Ignite system Experience with Newtek Tricaster or similar production switchers Familiarity with Avid iNews and MOS integration About Cox Media Group
