Summary:

Lead Clinical Therapist Behavioral Health carries a reduced case load and oversees Therapists – Behavioral Health assigned within integrated health clinics. The Lead ensures services are delivered in accordance with treatment planning, staff meet performance objectives, and quality of services provided. The Team Lead also ensures compliance standards of funders and governing agents are met in accordance with quality standards and contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

Provides individual and clinical supervision, evaluates staff performance, and makes recommendations for personnel actions to the Director of Clinical Services when needed.

Directs day-to-day operations of clinical therapists, schedules team meetings, services, and staff time.

Ensures documentation quality and compliance with the behavioral health code and all funding sources.

Manages overall productivity of the Clinic Therapists – Behavioral Health staff, motivating performance to meet department goals.

Maintains a personal caseload of assigned clinic cases and manages each case.

Recommends changes to improve service delivery and implements new programming.

Coordinates between Therapists – Behavioral Health, Case Management Staff, and Psychiatric Team.

Collaborates with peers to coordinate service delivery throughout the agency.

Performs additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Experience with underserved populations.

Proficient in Excel, Word, HMIS, Outlook, and various EHR systems.

Monitors and reports service data to DWIHN, all funding sources, and agencies.

Monitors compliance with department policy and recommends revisions.

Ensures compliance with behavioral health code and funding requirements.

Reviews staff leave requests and makes recommendations based on program needs.

Ensures adherence to accounting practices and department guidelines.

Attends management team meetings, providing input on supervisory issues.

Adheres to quality and performance improvement standards.

Ensures customer satisfaction through monitoring, developing, improving, and delivering excellence.

Assists in recruitment to fill vacancies and meet objectives.

Candidate Requirements

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

State of Michigan Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) – required.

3‑5 years experience in behavioral health.

5 years experience providing clinical therapy in a behavioral health setting.

3 years supervisory experience – required.

Familiarity with CMH – preferred.

Working Conditions

May be required to travel between Detroit and Westland Integrated Clinic locations.

Consistent physical contact with consumers/patients.

Clinical setting with computer, telephone, and office equipment.

Variable noise level due to frequent consumer contact.

Requires bending, stooping, and reaching to retrieve equipment and documents.

Requires manual dexterity for keyboard, writing, filing.

Vision, speech, and hearing continuously required.

Frequent standing during work hours.

Requires sitting, walking, or driving as needed.

May operate an automobile while performing duties if required.
