Responsibilities
Direct large‑scale, complex projects often involving multiple internal and external constituents.
Build collaborative relationships with project stakeholders and team members quickly.
Directly manage all aspects of the project lifecycle and work with department leadership in a matrix environment.
Ensure project results are clearly articulated within scope and delivered business benefits are of the highest caliber.
Rigorously manage scope to ensure commitments are achieved and time, cost, and quality parameters are met.
Perform resource capacity analysis and resource plan management in partnership with department leadership.
Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan.
Serve as subject‑matter expert when briefing stakeholders on project progress, scope, cost, and quality.
Prepare and manage all project‑related management plans to support obtaining business benefits.
Apply appropriate project management methodology (Agile, Waterfall, or a hybrid) based on project requirements.
Validate financial forecasts and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and related expenditures.
Make sound decisions in ambiguous situations and provide stakeholders with recommendations and contingency plans.
Represent the project in various governance and inter‑department forums.
Publish schedule project status reports.
Facilitate the procurement and sourcing process by defining deliverables, managing procurement tasks, and ensuring negotiation activities are tracked and documented.
Mentor and coach team members and/or other project managers.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
At least eight consecutive years of project management experience, including package implementation and support of complex business and technology projects.
Sound business and technical acumen with understanding of modern technical environments.
Knowledge and expertise in Project Management Methodologies (PMI, Prince 2, etc.) and SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban, etc.).
Retail/Business background with a proven ability to inspire teamwork, earn trust, facilitate collaboration, and remove barriers to project delivery.
Experience with contract review and vendor negotiation.
Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to make good decisions in ambiguous situations and provide contingency plans.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Project Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
PMP Certification, Prince2 or an equivalent Project Management certification required.
