KBR is seeking a Senior Director of Business Development for the Science & Space (S&S) organization. The Senior Director will report to the Vice President of Growth for S&S and oversee the Business Development team and their efforts on federal government pursuits.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead a team of business development managers through early‑game phases of the pursuit lifecycle.

Ensure managers leverage the KBR early‑game BD process to understand the procurement environment, generate leads, build trust within the client’s decision‑making organization, and aggressively pursue engagement to increase early win opportunities.

Manage approximately five direct reports.

Oversee all front‑end business development efforts with a focus on mentoring and leadership.

Participate in milestone and color‑team reviews, providing value to enhance solutions reflecting the voice of the customer.

Assist managers in developing thorough business development and account plans, building a compelling approach to market.

Improve commercial acumen and Business Development Excellence through process improvement, training, strategic thinking, and disciplined execution.

Qualifications

Growth‑mindset individual with a minimum of 20 years’ experience managing federal government BD teams of five or more, pursuing Single‑Award contracts valued greater than $300M.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a related technical field.

Demonstrated success in growing business.

Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and executive presence.

Experience managing pipelines and using CRM tools such as Salesforce.

Proven ability to work with senior business and government leaders at all levels, providing workplace leadership.

Experience in competitive and teaming analysis, strategic pricing, and commercial acumen.

Strong interpersonal skills to work with executives and lead teams.

Success in winning large‑scale federal programs over $300M.

Experience developing account plans and pursuit plans for new opportunities.

Proven BD and/or Capture experience with demonstrated wins.

Basic Compensation $226,800.00 – $340,100.00 (based on location, experience, and internal parity).

Additional Compensation KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation, such as sign‑on bonus, relocation benefits, short‑term incentives, long‑term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
