Job Description Responsibilities

Leader responsible for the community’s daily operations, associate relations, resident and family engagement, financial performance, and regulatory compliance. Creates and executes the business plan and develops the team to become a preferred senior living community in the market, while growing revenue and profitability in partnership with the district team.

Works with sales to drive sales results and creates an inclusive community culture that provides high-quality resident experiences and care.

Responsible for all operations within the community, interacting with staff and residents, prospects, and their families; building and maintaining strong working relationships with the management team.

In partnership with the district team, develops and implements a business plan to become a preferred community in the local market, creates, analyzes, and executes annual operating and capital budgets, and reviews performance against goals.

Acts as a hands‑on leader who supervises, directs, and motivates community staff; encourages teamwork, collaboration, and an inclusive culture while ensuring appropriate staffing levels.

Attracts, develops, engages, and retains associates in accordance with company policies; responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training high-quality associates, reviewing promotions and disciplinary actions, and analyzing recruiting trends.

Builds high resident satisfaction and retention, maintains positive resident relations, and proactively solves problems with support from district leaders.

For assisted living or memory care communities, collaborates with the community clinical leader to ensure care services meet resident needs, overseeing admission processes and healthcare management.

Demonstrates financial acumen, works to meet or exceed budgeted revenue and profitability, and seeks revenue enhancement and expense reduction while meeting resident needs.

Drives sales and marketing efforts with the community sales leader, develops new business, generates leads, and builds strategic relationships to maximize revenue.

Builds positive relationships with local influencers and professionals, actively participates in community affairs, and represents the community and company to agencies and groups.

Ensures buildings, grounds, and property meet company standards through prevention maintenance and frequent inspections.

Enforces company policies and maintains applicable licenses in accordance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

– High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of two years in operational leadership experience required (additional years can substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis).

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Requirements

– Valid administrator license where required, valid driver’s license, and access to a private vehicle for business use.

Management/Decision Making

– Uses analytic skills to handle arising problems, demonstrates leadership over resident care, marketing, food service, housekeeping, and maintenance units, carrying out supervisory responsibilities per company policies and laws.

Knowledge and Skills

– Knowledge of the organization, industry, and functional disciplines; extensive experience; familiarity with Microsoft software; excellent written and oral communication; ability to prioritize, delegate, and solve problems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking or hearing, lifting up to 50 pounds, vision, interaction with co‑workers, residents, or vendors.

Occasional weekend, evening, or night work; on‑call as needed; possible exposure to communicable diseases, chemical or biological hazards; occasional travel and driving.
