Responsibilities
Maintain and manage Linux systems, including performing regular updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize system performance.
Implement and manage security measures, including firewalls, access controls, vulnerability assessments, and STIG compliance.
Develop and utilize automation tools and scripts to enhance operational efficiency and minimize manual intervention.
Manage and ensure consistency in system configurations and compliance with corporate standards.
Troubleshoot complex system hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
Proficiency with monitoring and logging tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field. Experience may be substituted for education.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in Linux system administration and engineering roles.
Proficiency in scripting languages for automation.
Basic knowledge of containerization and container orchestration.
Solid understanding of network protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, ICMP, SSH, and SNMP.
Comprehensive knowledge of Networking, VLANs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and addressing schemes.
Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments.
