About This Role As a key contributor, you will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high‑performance trading APIs and systems, deploy cloud‑native, event‑driven architectures, and continuously improve observability and reliability.
Duties/Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, peer‑review, and tune high‑performance, high‑throughput software.
Collaborate with team members to share, learn, develop, and deliver designs and coding standards.
Build resilient, self‑scaling, self‑healing services for maximum reliability.
Support production systems, including CI/CD, monitoring (DataDog, Grafana, Prometheus, PagerDuty).
Write commercial‑grade, well‑tested code and enforce high code‑quality standards through code reviews and best practices.
Implement instrumentation and observability to proactively identify improvement opportunities.
Education and/or Experience
BA, BS, MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of prior work experience as a Senior Software Developer.
Prior experience in the trading domain required.
Background in financial services (capital markets, clearing, or order management systems) required.
Experience with trading technology required.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform is nice to have.
Experience with Kubernetes, Google CloudRun, and/or Docker is a plus.
Experience with Apache Kafka or Google Pub/Sub is a plus.
Experience hiring, mentoring, and coaching other engineers is a plus.
Required Skills/Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong understanding of high‑load, low‑latency architecture, object‑oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
Expertise in Java or GO required (Python also nice to have).
Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
Ability to visualize, propose, and document system design and implementation.
Adaptability and willingness to try new things while establishing processes and standards.
Work Environment
Hybrid schedule: office 3 days per week, remote 2 days per week.
