Senior Network Engineer / Architect
SAIC is seeking a TS/SCI cleared Senior Network Engineer / Architect responsible for providing high quality networking engineering advisory services, network systems planning, integration, and architecture support for a C4ISR Program of Record within the Program Executive Office, Command, Control, Computers, Communications, and Intelligence (PEO C4I). As part of the team, you will be required to collaborate with others, as well as work individually on strategies, roadmaps and recommended solutions for the implementation of cloud solutions and hosted software application integration functions.
In this role, the Network Engineer / Architect will design, plan, and integrate Navy classified networks with other classified government networks. Additionally:
Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, application & data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Develop and conduct testing of navy networks and associated network routers.
Maintain technical expertise relevant industry standards in networks, design, and configuration; platform-, and software-as-a-service; automation; network routers, hypervisors; containers; virtual compute, storage, and networks; virtual infrastructure management; self-provisioning; and scaling.
Provide systems engineering activities such as Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Physical Configuration Analysis (PCA).
Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience in the field. 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree.
Active TS/SCI and CI polygraph (or ability to obtain CI polygraph).
Skilled in computer networking, network routers, Product Owner, Agile.
Experience in classified navy (afloat and ashore) and intelligence community networks, establishing peered networks and network routers.
Relevant experience leading/managing network development teams. Ideally at least 2 years knowledge in PaaS / IaaS / SaaS.
Understands network engineering concepts and related systems engineering processes.
Understanding of disconnected networks and limited bandwidth networks to include disconnected lab and production systems.
Strong communicator that can consult on technical discussions and provide technical recommendations across many levels of the program to include senior leadership.
Technical leadership and general problem solving related to software design, architecture, and execution in an oversight position.
Ability to operate both independently and without direct supervision.
Desired skills and certifications: SAFe Agilist, ability to attain CSWF and IAT Level II Certifications (Security+), demonstrated technical writing and briefing, understanding of navy and intelligence network architectures, understanding of PEO C4I, NAVWAR, US Navy C4I systems.
