We are looking for a Critical Power Field Technician (UPS Field Engineer) in

Santa Monica, CA

and surrounding areas. The role supports onsite preventive, corrective, and restorative maintenance of UPS systems, DC systems, inverters, PDUs, STS, and standalone reserve battery technologies.

Your Impact As a Senior UPS Field Service Engineer, you will quickly diagnose and resolve customer issues, mentor crew members, and drive effective solutions that meet client needs.

Core Responsibilities

Install electrical equipment, including UPS units, batteries, and monitoring equipment.

Maintain battery cabinets, racks, bypasses, monitoring equipment, DC systems, and other electrical equipment.

Perform lifecycle‑driven performance checks, failure analysis, troubleshooting, component replacements, and battery string installations.

Build and maintain customer relationships, provide excellent service, and upsell products.

Respond to field troubleshooting calls and resolve issues swiftly.

Lead and mentor crew members on site work, troubleshooting, repair, and data analysis.

Isolate hardware, software, and interface malfunctions using test equipment.

Adapt duties as business and client needs evolve.

Core Experience

Preferred prior military training in electronics or avionics (A School, AIT).

Minimum three (3) years in third‑party critical power field service or technical support with demonstrated progression, or minimum five (5) years in an OEM service environment in critical power.

Strong understanding of AC/DC electrical principles.

Knowledge of test equipment such as multimeters and battery test equipment.

Proficient at reading and interpreting electronics schematics to troubleshoot failures to component level.

Experience enforcing compliance with FCC/FAA/EPA/OSHA regulations and standards.

Outstanding work ethic, punctuality, trustworthiness, and reliability.

Good judgment and ability to make timely decisions in fast‑paced, changing priorities.

Physical / Work Environment

Must comply with OSHA and applicable DOT standards.

Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if driving a company vehicle) and successful pre‑employment drug screen.

Ability to lift/move up to 100 pounds for short periods, kneel or crouch periodically, and stand for extended periods.

Ability to travel multiple days with per diem as projects require.

Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining 100% safety awareness.

Lifting heavy objects and stretching above head.

We’re committed to fair and transparent pay practices. Compensation depends on skill set, experience, and location.
